David Lane Williams, bestselling author of Carousel Grift, is a veteran paramedic and police officer whose assignments have included helicopter rescue, tactical medic, mental health liaison, and Special Investigations Unit detective.
Twice named Officer of the Year by the Fraternal Order of Police, he has also been recognized by national advocacy organizations for his work with trauma victims and families in crisis.
Williams is a criminology lecturer at the University of Arkansas and a columnist for Killer Nashville Magazine. He and his family have settled in the Ozark Mountains, where they offer a haven for donkeys and horses who previously endured a rough life. His favorite moments are when the grandkids visit the farm to help with the horses, fishing, tractor work, archery, and all things campfire-related.
