Preventing School Shootings

My second non-fiction book, Textbooks, Not Targets: Preventing School Shootings in Your Community, went under contract two months ago with an expected publication date of early 2019. However, two weeks ago it was fast-tracked by the publisher because of the shooting in Parkland, FL. We’ve just gone “live,” with the e-book version*, and I'm beyond grateful for a chance to participate in finally ending the nightmare of school shootings.

The e-book will be free to download for the first two weeks through this Smashwords link

or for .99 through this Amazon link . I would very much appreciate you downloading a free copy, and also that you alert your friends that it's available.

Now is the time for action. We simply can’t wait for a dysfunctional congress to “fix” this issue. Parents, teachers, administrators, and students need the knowledge and tools right now to stop the violence.

My years of experience as a violent crimes detective, paramedic, and school resource officer, along with information I gathered while working on my master’s thesis on this topic, provide answers to the questions every parent, teacher, and school administrator is asking right now: How do we keep our schools safe, and how do we make our kids feel safe? I have to try and help, and I’ll need your assistance to do that.

Please tell your friends who don’t know me that the free download option means no strings attached. I don’t care if I never make a dime off this project as long as the information gets out there. An online review on sites such as Goodreads, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc. would be appreciated, but please don’t feel obligated. The important thing is that the information be read, shared, and acted upon. I appreciate you. Be well and happy. David

(* The print version is expected out some time this summer.)
